| In the early 80's when the construction boom was being birthed in Dallas and Ft. Worth, Texas, Charlie quickly realized that there was opportunity. With new buildings, comes the need for window treatments for those buildings.
At the age of 24 he founded We've Got Your Blinds, a window treatment business that specialized in servicing large commercial accounts in Dallas and Ft. Worth, Texas. With a passion to succeed matched by his relentless determination, We've Got Your Blinds quickly became known as the company that could deliver. We've Got Your Blinds delivered quality products at a great price with speed that was rivaled by its competitors. When the construction boom began to fizzle in the late 80's, Charlie looked for new opportunity.
In the late 80's the fitness craze exploded. Here again was opportunity. Charlie quickly realized that to belong to a fitness center you had to sign your life away and enter into a contract that would obligate the individual to pay a monthly charge even if the individual did not choose to workout. This, of course, would become a nightmare for most college students. As you know, most college students are not financially positioned for those contracts and are not in their college towns long enough to utilize the service of the fitness center for the duration of the contract.
With this in mind, in 1989 Charlie founded Hardbodies Fitness Centers in Arlington and Ft. Worth, Texas. Hardbodies catered primarily to the college students in those "College Towns". Hardbodies was unique in the fact that it's clients were not obligated to any contract whatsoever. They paid one month at a time. College students loved it! Charlie helped to pioneer the "No Contract" option in the fitness industry. Hardbodies Fitness Centers were sold in 1992 for a very handsome amount.
In the early 90's, small businesses were popping up everywhere. Again Charlie saw opportunity. He realized that a business without a sign is like a bank without money. But most small businesses didn't have the money for big expense signage, and if they did have the money, city codes and ordinances wouldn't allow them to do what they wanted. The answer was "Neon". A small sign with a big punch. 1992 was the year that Charlie founded Neonetics, a neon sign manufacturing company, which was sold the same year more than doubling the investment.
For the next 8 years, Charlie pursued his Doctorate Degree in Theology.
After completing education Charlie spent more then 2 years researching the utility industry for investment purposes. His research along with his relentless determination has begun to pay off.
